Cross laid wire rope	-component wires of different layers cross (come in contact with) each other at points. -when the ropes bend a lot around the drum or pulley, its component wire can break easily fatigued from primary and secondary bending.
Parallel laid wire rope	Free from secondary bending stress, its fatigue resistance is greatly improved.
